The story

Ryan and Sasha are an international couple living in the US, brought together by a love of travel. Ryan wanted a ring rooted in Sasha’s Slavic heritage, but easy enough to wear every day. He named the project after the nickname her mother gave her: Little Bird.

The signature detail

Why a braid

In Slavic tradition, a braid stands for beauty, purity and the ties that hold a family together. So the shank is twisted, wrapping around the diamond like a small ritual of protection. The rest is kept private. Rubies sit hidden on the bridge beneath the stone, and an engraving runs inside the band, against her skin. Nobody else needs to read it.

Designs by email

Every design sent by email, so Ryan could review it whenever he had a quiet moment.

Little Bird

Partway through, Ryan told us Sasha’s family nickname and her Slavic roots. The design grew from there.

Making

Handmade in 18K gold by our master artisans in Florence, with progress shared on WhatsApp.

Delivery

Sent to Sasha’s mum’s house, the easiest place for it to arrive.

I was blown away with the amount of effort and depth [Yulia] put into the project. The final product was far beyond anything I would have expected before starting this process with her. My fiancée’s friends always gawk at how amazing the ring is.

The Little Bird Ring

For the technically minded

Cathedral setting in 18K yellow gold with a twisted, braided shank. A natural 1.02 ct pear-shaped diamond held in delicate claw prongs, with rubies hidden on the bridge and a personal engraving inside the shank.
